portrait of bradford
An Exhibition by the Yorkshire Region of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS)
To celebrate Bradford City of Culture 2025, a team of photographers from the Yorkshire Region of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) created a series of pop-up street portraits to capture the diversity, energy and spirit of the city through its people.
They met and photographed people who live and work in the city and who love to visit. Together the portraits tell a collective story of what makes Bradford unique and special.
“So often we wander through cities, lost in our own thoughts. This project was a chance to stand still and really see Bradford, to experience it through the lives of the people we met there… ordinary encounters revealed the extraordinariness of Bradford and the energy, warmth and pride of the people who make it what it is.” (Rachael Munro-Fawcett, photographer)
Photo North will be hosting an exhibition of selected works from the project.
