“As a third year in the November of 2018, studying Photography: Editorial at the University of Gloucestershire, I was always taught the importance of networking and volunteering within industry. I was thankful for the connections our course had and it gave me opportunities such as volunteering and helping out at Photo North Festival. The festival opened a world of photography to me; I got to meet people I looked up to, help out with needs for book-selling stalls and setting up talks as well as getting to listen to them, see the work in person up on the walls and see how the insides of a large festival like itself works.
