• Finalists Announced: Friday, 28th March 2024.

• Finalists Submit Prints for Exhibition No Later Than: Monday, 8th April 2024.

• Winner and Runner-Up Announced at Photo North Festival on 12th April 2024 (Education Day).

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• To enter, you must be a current student at a UK-based educational institution (college or uni).

• Images can be in any format or camera model, film, or digital. For a series, indicate viewing order if necessary.

• The series should consist of up to 12 interconnected images.

• Image size limit is 5MB each, submitted as JPEG files only.

• There are no restrictions on when the submitted images were taken.

• Include an artist's statement under 1500 characters (approximately 250 words) in English.

• Entries cannot be altered once submitted. Only judges will view submitted entries

• The final deadline is midnight Thursday 14th March 2024. Judging will take place shortly after. 

• Finalists will be announced on Friday 28th March 2024.

• Finalists must submit their prints for exhibition NO LATER THAN Monday 8th April 2024.

• Winner and runner up announced at Photo North Festival on 12th April 2024, which is our Education Day.

• The winners must be available to supply images promptly for exhibition and be available for interview by telephone or in person.

• Finalists must supply 6-12 of your selection of prints for display at the festival itself in Leeds.

• Prints must be no bigger than 10" x 12" and arrive no later than Monday 8th April. To:

• PHOTO NORTH FESTIVAL, C/O THE CARRIAGEWORKS, ELECTRIC PRESS, LEEDS, LS2 3AD.

• Clearly marked PHOTO NORTH STUDENT COMPETITION WITH YOUR NAME ON THE REVERSE.

• Digital files of the winning images will be created for press and publicity purposes.

• Successful entries will be exhibited at Photo North Festival 2024 at The Carriageworks, Electric Press, Leeds.

• Photographers may keep the prints after the exhibition, but must make arrangements for, and meet the costs of collection.

• The winners will be interviewed and published through Photo North Festival’s online editorial and social media channels as well as appearing in press releases for our national PR campaign.

• Photo North Festival cannot be responsible for any loss or damage to submitted work.

• Photo North Festival reserve the right to display, reproduce and publish in any media, any entry, without payment, for the sole purpose of Photo North Festival Student Photo Competition– this year and in future – and its promotion and publicity. 

• No copyright is transferred to Photo North Festival in respect of any works entered or accepted. Each entrant will be deemed to warrant they own the entire copyright for the work or that they have permission from the licensee and/or copyright owner/s for the uses.

• All relevant clearances and/or model releases must have been obtained for the use of the photographs for publication and exhibition.
