Key Dates

• Entry deadline: Midnight, 15 February 2026

• Finalists announced: Friday, 27 February 2026

• Final prints due: Monday, 9 March 2026

• Winner announced: Friday, 13 March 2026 (Education Day)

Eligibility

• Must be a current student at a UK-based college or university

• Open to all UK students; judges will consider different skill levels/year groups

Entry Requirements

• Submit a series of up to 12 interconnected images

• Images can be any format or camera, film or digital

• Indicate viewing order if necessary

• JPEG only, max 5 MB per image https://www.photonorthfestival.co.uk/how-to-enter

Entry form requires:

• Name, email, phone number

• Instagram handle (optional)

• Location, course, institution, year of study

• Series title

• Artist’s statement (max 1500 characters / ~250 words)

Entries cannot be altered once submitted.

If Shortlisted / Successful

• Provide 6–12 prints (max 10" × 12") for exhibition

• Mark each print “PHOTO NORTH STUDENT COMPETITION” with your name on the back

• Send prints by Monday, 9 March 2026 to:

  PHOTO NORTH FESTIVAL C/O THE CARRIAGEWORKS THEATRE, ELECTRIC PRESS LEEDS, LS2 3AD

• Successful entries will be exhibited at The Carriageworks, Electric Press, Leeds

• Digital files of winning images will be used for press/publicity

• Winners must be available to supply images promptly and for interviews (phone or in person)

• Winners will be featured online, on social media, and in press releases

• Prints may be collected after the exhibition

• Judges’ decisions are final

• Photo North Festival may reproduce/display entries for promotion; copyright remains with the entrant

• All model/property releases must be obtained

• Photo North Festival is not responsible for loss/damage of submitted work
